Donna police arrest wanted suspect following report of man with a knife
A 28-year-old Donna man was arrested Tuesday afternoon after police responded to a report of a man with a knife in the area, according to Donna Police Chief Gilbert Guerrero.
According to Guerrero, Donna police officers responded to the 300 block of south 23rd street following a report of a male with a knife. Police at the scene detained the suspect — Mark Tollett — who resided at the residence police responded to.
Tollett was wanted on an unrelated aggravated assault charge, Guerrero said, adding that a knife was not found at the scene.
Tollett was taken into custody without incident and no injuries were reported, Guerrero said, adding that appropriate charges against Tollett are being pursued.
