This March, the Edcouch Elsa girls powerlifting team won their third state championship title in the past four years.

"I mean we were all happy, sad because it was our senior year, happy because we brought back the title it was just all the emotions in one," said senior Addie Anzaldua. 

After barely missing out on winning a third straight title last year, the girls came back this season determined and motivated. 

"Sometimes losing ain't so bad because of the fact that you come back with the will to win again and that's what our girls did," said head coach Patrick Boutwell.
