Missing South Padre Island swimmers believed to be false alarm, U.S. Coast Guard says
The U.S. Coast Guard has suspended the search for two swimmers at South Padre Island.
Officials said their "response came back with needing more information to continue the search" and they believe it may have been a false alarm.
The report of the missing swimmers came in on Monday at around 6:45 p.m. near Beach Access #8.
Those with any information on the disappearance are urged to call the U.S. Coast Guard at 361-533-8125.
