Tamaulipas attorney general: Investigation underway after woman dies following cosmetic procedure
A woman who is believed to be an American died Friday following a cosmetic procedure at a clinic in Reynosa, the Tamaulipas Attorney General’s Office announced.
An investigation into the death is underway.
The woman was only identified as a woman who is presumed to be American.
“A preliminary investigation indicates the person had gone under a cosmetic procedure at a private clinic in that city, where the woman presented medical complications,” the news release stated. “Subsequently, the woman was transported to a private hospital where she was admitted without vital signs.”
A news release from the Hospital Santander confirmed that they received a patient without vital signs from a private clinic dedicated to cosmetic procedures. The woman was later pronounced dead, the hospital said.
“It should be noted that investigators will do the necessary work in order to clarify how the incident transpired and determine those responsible,” the Tamaulipas Attorney General’s Office said in the news release.
