The Brownsville Police Department is taking action after three people were stabbed early Monday morning during an altercation.

As previously reported, Adan Aguirre Manrique is wanted on three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection with the stabbing that happened on Monday, Dec. 15, 2025, shortly after 2:15 a.m. at the 3300 block of Pablo Kisel Boulevard.

As previously reported, Manrique stabbed the victims after a fight broke out in the area.

Brownsville police spokesperson Officer Abril Luna said the three people who were stabbed were attempting to break up the fight. Two of them were hospitalized, and one of the victims remains hospitalized in critical condition after he was stabbed in the face.

Luna said Manrique is in Mexico, and police are working with federal and Mexican authorities to bring him back to the country to face charges.

That area is known as the bar district, an area described as “problematic.”

“The calls vary,” Luna said. “Public intoxication, indecent exposure, people urinating in public areas, fights, disputes."

Because of the amount of calls, Luna said the department increased the amount of patrols in the area.
